January 2010
I love crossing things off of to do lists.
It’s very satisfying.
December 2009
I think love is letting your sister come into your room to read, then realizing that she’s drooling a little bit on your pillow because she fell asleep, but not really minding all that much because hey, she’s your sister, and that’s okay.
I realized that sometimes, no matter how much you love someone, and no matter how willing you are to wait and be there for a person…you can’t be THAT person unless they open hearts and let you in. It doesn’t matter if you’re willing to be there at two in the morning to speak to them on the phone, or how many years you’ve known them. They need to be willing to open up to you, and you need to be the one they think of when they have something important to say.
& I guess it’s sad.
But it’s life.
Got lunch with Eryn today, & we realized that we hadn’t really spoken to each other for TWO YEARS. I feel like that’s kind of ridiculous. But we still got along just fine, and discovered that we share very similar tastes in movies.
I also had a PB&J reunion at Starbucks. It was nice to sit there sipping my strange-tasting hot chocolate and opening gifts. I like the smell of coffee, and I like being with my friends, so it was all very nice. (Thanks so much for the gifts, loves.)
So I was at Petco today because I wanted to buy a toy for my doggy, when I asked my sister, “Is it wrong that I’d totally be down to give some of these to my own children?” I’m telling you, those things are pretty darn cute.
I’m training my dog to learn some more tricks, but I don’t know what else to teach him.
I also went to the mall and bought my older sister a pair of jeans and a shirt…the exact same pair of jeans and shirt that I bought for myself. She really liked them though, and I tell myself that it will be okay because she lives in Colorado, and jeans are jeans.
Oh, & I decided that I’m going to just get another bottle of Princess.
I tried Daisy and it’s nice…but it can be pretty strong. (Although I’m still lusting after that adorable circular, golden box.)
I got some more Picadilly’s!
I went on a Picadilly spree!
Picadilly is a fun word to say!
Currently reading: To Kill A Mockingbird
I finished Running With Scissors.
Up Next: Catch 22 and The Picture of Dorian Gray.
I also packed some of my magazines. National Geographic is amazing!
My mommy is sick, so I bought her some pretty yellow flowers with red-orange tips, and they made her smile when she saw them, so that made me smile.
I apologize for the numerous reblogs, it’s just that I was catching up on my google reader, and I saw a bunch of things that I really liked. I still get caught up in those, “oh-my-goodness-that-person-has-the-same-brain-as-I-do” feelings. It’s pretty wonderful and crazy to see how many people are so similar to you.
John Krasinski imagines his alternate universe life as an English teacher (via madeitsimple ; missparker ; notnadia ; secondhandjoy) (via webravebees) (via istalksnape)
I would love to be an English teacher; to inspire students & help them discover a love for books.

My older sister is five years my senior, and we’ve never really been what you could call close. But the other night I had a complete meltdown at 2 in the morning, and she was there to just hug me and listen to me and make me feel better. Even though she was tired and was planning on going to sleep, she stayed up with me for hours until we both fell asleep on the couch with her holding me in her arms.
Thank you Unnie <3
