predicament 2.0
I am so thirsty right now - but to get water means having to walk into the kitchen. Walking into the kitchen means putting on trousers. And you all know how much I enjoy not wearing trousers.
[I had to write trousers because “pants” here means underwear, and once I made the mistake of being outside during a fire alarm with only a trench, tank & shorts on. (I probably looked like a...

revelation
The standard American shot is nearly twice as much liquid as the shots here in England.
My inexplicable increase in tolerance is suddenly explained, and the alcoholic feats of people I know is reduced to utter nonsense.

Something old, something new
Me: IT'S SNOWING!
Rachel: I KNOW
Me: I was going to run over to your room this morning & freak out about it - but I wasn't sure you were up.
Rachel: IT NEEDS TO FUCK OFF
Me: But it's magical, Rachel. It's magical!

Lele: "Sorry sorry" if he says sorry again I'm going to kick him.
Me: Why?
Lele: I don't know. He keeps on saying sorry. Sorry for what? He's just a dick!

merci, gracias, thank you
Attended my (third!) Thanksgiving dinner of the year. Delicious food, watching Easy A in “the party room”, seeing the aftermath of Aaron’s poor decisions, chatting late into the night. My only regret is that in my rush to leave, I left my SD card in my laptop & couldn’t take any photos. Overall, a wonderful night because I got to spend it with most of my favorite people...

I woke up today to brilliant, golden sunshine streaming in through my window. I was unbelievably excited & made plans with Lele to go to Spitalfield’s. Too bad it was still really cold when we went outside. As in 32 degrees or so. Too bad I forgot my gloves. Too bad I was in a tank top. Too bad I was wearing flats.
OOPS.
It’s okay - I bought a hat! Perfect for keeping my ears...
predicament
I could be a good student and start reading Mrs. Dalloway OR I could watch A Very Potter Musical.
It was in the dead of the night when dark thoughts emerged from the stillness to break her. Alone, alone, you’re so alone. Vengeful, angry thoughts - images burning what ifs and what could have beens, more haunting than memories. And so she would remain until the cold gray morning.

Papi: You have to make sure you don't get sick. Because if you get sick, then you get homesick!
Me: I'm really good about it though! I eat lots of veggies and fruit and stuff.
Papi: Make sure you also take your vitamins. (vite-amins)
Jess: (in the background) They don't say vitamins, they say vitamins.
Me: I don't have any vitamins, they're too expensive.
Papi: We will put some money into your holiday fund so you can buy vitamins.
Papi: I'm sorry, not vitamins, I meant vitamins.

Woke up bleary eyed but filled with hopeful expectations. Uncertainty buried under optimism. Being crammed into the tube, body pushing against the warm flesh of strangers. Smiling at a singer at Trafalgar Square, meeting at the lion. Wandering in circles through the city. Good food at a pub, catching up, he paid for dinner. Exploring side streets and brightly lit alleys, sharing cheesecake,...
