reasons why today is awesome

1. It’s wonderfully sunny and not too cold.
2. I slept in.
3. Got a good grade and excellent review on one of my assignments.
4. I biked to the post office.
5. I got a care package!

I’ve been getting so much snail mail lately I don’t know what to do with myself.  :]

Oh, and one of my flatmates is cooking soup, so the hall smells lovely.
& it’s only 2:05PM.

I want to feel your bones on my bones.
I am obsessed with the human body - what makes us, how we move, the intricate dance between oxygen and blood cells. The tension of muscles, intakes of air, the quick blink of an eye. Chemical reactions that define us, electricity racing through our system telling us to live.

One thing I do miss is texting friends on a whim.
When I spot a lovely shade of blue, or a fluffy dog,
or when I just want to say hello.

I am reminded of how very far I am
& it is a little sad.

“My nerves are bad tonight. Yes, bad. Stay with me.
“Speak to me. Why do you never speak? Speak.
“What are you thinking of? What thinking? What?
I never know what you are thinking. Think.”

This week has been a flurry of activity. Rushing in and out of Pooley, catching trains, walking through underground tunnels. Buttoning up against cold wind and throwing back my face to greet the sun. Meeting up with old friends, walking through crowded streets, short trips to museums, and a musical. Laughter and music and discovering new parts of the city. Running and dancing and lonely nights. Care packages and errands and beauty everywhere I look.

worst luck

Zipper of my left boot broke the night I left for my home stay. I ended up trying for five minutes trying to fix it, and ended up switching to a different pair of shoes, running out the door, getting delayed on the tube, and missing my train to Worthing.

Took me a while to get it fixed, and in the meantime, Europe was hit by a ton of cold weather and snow.

Weather has been lovely lately though, with sun peeping through the clouds now and then. I just checked the weather for tomorrow though, and it’s supposed to drop several degrees, with light snow showers throughout the day.

…

The zipper of my right boot is now stuck & possibly broken.

Come on, internet

I just want to watch the State of the Union Address.
So stop being lame and start working!

Oh, you know what else would be cool?
If the water started working in our building.
Yea, that’d be awesome.
